Alcan Rolled Products -- Ravenswood (ARP) is an industry leader in the production of heat treated aluminum plate for the aircraft and space markets. ARP - Ravenswood is a major supplier to all commercial and military aircraft manufacturers in the United States and Canada and in close coordination with Alcan Aerospace, Transportation and Industry (ATI), and Alcan International Network (AIN), we support our customers worldwide with value-added sheet, plate and extruded solutions for the aerospace market. With the largest stretcher in operation in the world, ARP is able to supply plate which is both thicker and wider than anyone else in the industry -- providing airframe manufacturers the opportunity to reduce costs and weight utilizing monolithic structures. Our technical expertise and innovative R & D team lead the industry in helping designers and engineers create/find solutions.

Research and Development
We have been leaders, improving the properties and increasing the dimensional availability of plate products, for more than 20 years. Recently, we developed and implemented the first 10” thick 7xxx alloy plate product in an aircraft application. We have added to our product portfolio newly designed 2xxx and 7xxx alloys with superior properties compared with industry incumbents. These newly developed materials bring weight savings and performance improvements to our customers’ products. We are actively registering these new products in Aluminum Association, AMS specifications and MMPDS (FAA design) publications. We are also investigating state-of-the art processing technologies and how these technologies can complement our new materials to bring even more options to our customers. Our technical and R&D resources work with our customers in integrated teams to develop solutions tailored to their specific needs. We are determined to be the first to identify new customer requirements and to develop and bring solutions to the marketplace faster than our competitors. General Engineering

Markets served include: vacuum chamber (for the semi-conductor & flat panel display industries), molds, tooling plate, and jigs and dies. Our Ravenswood facility serves these markets with a 30 million pound stretcher which sets us apart from the competition. It enables ARP to produce stretched plate larger than any other aluminum company in the world -- up to 9.0" thick in 6061 T651 & 7075 T651/T7351. If we can't stretch it, nobody can! We can heat treat and quench material up to 16" thick.

Armor Plate

Alcan Rolled Products - Ravenswood (ARP) has been a key Defense industry supplier for over 25 years. As one of the largest thick gauge plate manufacturing facilities in the world, ARP has developed the expertise and products to serve this demanding market. ARP offers the widest range of alloys in Armor plate including 2xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx and 7xxx (see the Armor Plate Alloys page). ARP also offers a full range of product testing and certification including ballistics.
